Book by Alice Gustafson "Dunes to Surf Pines"

A long time Surf Pines resident, Alice and her husband Tom built a home on Lucas Dr. (now called Sea Breeze Rd) in 1972 and enjoyed the pleasures of Surf Pines with their family for many years. In the early 21st century Alice started work to record the interesting history of Surf Pines. Through interviews with Patty Beall and Jimmy Lucas (children of developer Barney Lucas), Mike Manion (son of the Bill Manion who was lead real estate agent for Surf Pines who bought out Barney Lucas, and Paul See (a former professor and administrator for Clatsop Community College and resident historian of the Clatsop Plains), Alice lays out an enjoyable booklet of the history of Surf Pines and surrounding Clatsop Plains. This book was donated to the Surf Pines Association for their history page of their web and the Internet Archive library for the Clatsop County Historical Society. We would like to thank Alice’s daughter Susan Egbert and her sisters for their donation to our history. 

This book is also available on the Internet Archive pages of the Clatsop Historical Society and if enough people want hard copies they also have the original print templates to reproduce additional copies.
