Book: "Lord James, The Biography of James William Bayless

Jim and Jean Bayless were long time residents of Surf Pines. They had a home built on the Strawberry Hill sub-division and were active members of the Astoria Golf and Country Club when they spent time at their coastal home. Many old time members remember him as a active golfer and promoter of AGCC.

Jim was a self made person who started with nothing and became one of the leading Insurance Executives with one of the larger Insurance Brokerages in Portland. He and his wife were big supporters of Warrenton High School. They donated several thousand dollars in scholarships for many students who graduated. 

This book is a biography of his life and is quite an interesting rags to riches story.
